What’s the Neighborhood Like?

Beauregard Town in Baton Rouge is listed as a National Historic District founded in 1806 by Toutant Beauregard, a retired military officer and New Orleans mercantile businessman. Beauregard Town is a nice place to settle and grow a family while enjoying the Baton Rouge downtown culture. Most of the homes in Beauregard resemble those of New Orleans style homes. See what homes in Beauregard Town look like here. Some of the houses have been restructured for commercial and professional uses such as law or medical offices. The homes in Beauregard Town range drastically in size. You will find smaller bungalow style homes with only 1,000 square feet of living space and 1 bedroom as well as 3, 4, 5 and even six bedroom houses spanning up to 5,000 square feet of living space. Just like the sizes of the houses, the size of the lots differ from one another also. Some homes sit on low maintenance, garden home style lots, while others may sit on 1/2 an acre. Since the size of these homes range so much, the prices of these homes do also. Prices range from about $150,000 to over $300,000. Most of these homes are zoned residential, however you can also find a few properties that may be used for both residential or commercial purposes. Beauregard Town residents enjoy the variety of family activities, commercial establishments, historical milestones and reliable town association. Children can walk to school, families can walk to church, and ride bikes to the community garden.

http://www.batonrougerealestatedeals.com/listings/areas/30952/subdivision/Beauregard+Town/propertytype/SINGLE/listingtype/Resale+New,Foreclosure+Bank+Owned,Short+Sale/Beauregard Town is in the heart of down town Baton Rouge. As you can imagine there is a wide variety of events, restaurants, and shops. The neighborhood has an active HOA that holds scheduled board meetings to ensure the needs of the residents are being met. They also encourage residents to volunteer at area activities like creating and maintaining the city garden, participating in charitable fun runs, joining neighborhood meetings, as well as other Beauregard Town seasonal socials. There are also live concerts and performances happening around the area.  One of my favorite events,"Live After Five", takes place within walking distance of the neighborhood. This outdoor, concert series event takes place each spring on Friday evenings for nearly two months. Whether you are coming to the event for business networking or bringing the family to kick off the weekend, this free event will not let you down. Next time you are in this area you must stop by Christina's Restaurant inside the Beauregard Gallery & bistro to try their shrimp cream cheese omelet and cozy deli style specials.
