10 Quick Moving Tips to Save You Time & Money!

10 QUICK MOVING TIPS

Being in the Real Estate business has taught me a lot of tricks to moving that can save you some time and most of all FRUSTRATION! Here are a couple simple tricks to help make the move a little less stressful.

1. Pack an overnight bag containing all the essentials.

Just include the essentials, so you dont have to worry about unpacking anything the first night your in your new home.I like to use a backpack or something of that size.
MAKE SURE TO INCLUDE: scissors or box cutter, toilet paper, tools and phone charger.

2. Wrap your breakables in Towels and Clothing.

Wrap your breakables (dishes, glasses, etc.) in clothing to save on bubble wrap.

3. Write what room the items belong to. And use your drawers as boxes as well!

4. The fastest way to pack a closet:

I most recently packed my clothes like this and it was such a time saver. Unpacking will be so much easier if you use this tip.

I even the side of each bag like "work clothes", just in case I needed something before I got to my new home.

The fastest way to pack a closet:

5. Place an extra cotton pad or ball into your powder cosmetics to keep them from breaking.

I do this anytime I'm traveling.

Place an extra cotton pad or ball into your powder cosmetics to keep them from breaking.

6. Cover the container openings with cling wrap, then put the tops back on.

Cover the openings of your toiletries with saran wrap, then put the tops back on.

7. Use sandwich bags to hold small pieces as you take items apart.

This was very helpful for my tv mount, curtain rods, etc. Make sure to label each bag.

Keep sandwich bags handy for holding any small parts of things you have to take apart, like curtain rods or mounted flat-screen TVs.

8. If you’re renting, take photos before you bring your things inside.

That way when you move out, you can make sure you are leaving it just as you came. And hopefully, get your deposit back.
